JAMES BENJAMIN Dr. Benjamin is a board-certified plastic surgeon who performs the full range of “head to toe” procedures, including body contouring and abdominoplasty, rhinoplasty, and breast reductions and augmentations. As a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C., Dr. Benjamin went on to serve in the United States Army for 12 years and he was the Assistant Chief of Plastic Surgery at Walter Reed Army Hospital. He was the first black surgeon trained and board certified in plastic surgery in any of the Armed Services. While he has a diverse practice and sees a wide variety of patients, he has a wealth of experience in performing facelifts and mid-facelifts on African American patients. “I find that the endoscopic facelift works much better with their skin pigmentation and helps to decrease scarring.
